sark19 Profil: New Penguin | Hi Didas,
Ive experienced similar issues with Vista Inspirat Bricopack.
Ive seen many threads on the CrystalXP.net Forum such as this, and most of them have helped me to understand what the issue is when people try to uninstall the Bricopack etc. My issue is similar to that of a thread out there already:
Thread :
Vista Inspirat 2 messed up my computer
Unlike this thread which i found very amusing and liked your reply :
Thread :
thnx 4 ur stupid brickpack dat won't completely uninstall
My issue began when i decided to defragment my D drive (C drive my primary drive with Windows files etc.) D drive used for music/movies etc. and also some programs I have installed, including Vista Inspirat.
I stopped the defrag less than 5% in, as it was not needed anyway, i thought it would be okay to exit. 2 days later, i noticed many of the programs i had installed on D drive could not be opened any longer, and their folders removed from my D drive...it must have been the partial defrag. As defrag uses RAM, and stopping halfway and shutting my machine down clears RAM and therefore deletes the contents.
Now I come to Vista Inspirat, like the other programs installed on my D Drive, the files etc. are no longer there, and I cannot simply do:
start menu --> Programs --> BricoPacks --> Remove Vista Inspirat 2 1.0 Note: The folders and files ^^^^^ are still there, but shows a blank icon and once clicked on Windows cannot find it.
UberIcon is still installed and running fine however, which amazes me!
Now i have read the threads and understand the files etc. that are in C:\WINDOWS\BricoPacks. The files are still there, but i cannot completely remove the Theme from Windows without the "Remove Vista Inspirat 2 1.0", but was tempted to just delete the associated files:
BricoPackFoldersDelete.cmd
BricoPackUninst.cmd
BricoPackUninst.txt
Here comes the stupid part, i double clicked on BricoPackUninst.cmd. I know what clicking the .cmd file has done, but luckily i havent suffered the consequences of completely messing my Windows theme/icons/sounds.
I have no restore point before Bricopack, as it is over a year ago, loved Vista Inspirat so much i have used it since, and will do once i fix this issue.
How can I uninstall Vista Inspirat/Bricopack? and will somehow getting the Remove.exe from a helpful member on these forums completely remove the theme?
Thanks alot for your time and help.
Sav.

Norad678 Profil: New Penguin | I'm haveing the same problem. I've been trying to unistall the vista theme. But it's not in add/remove programs. I've tried everything. I went in safe mode and deleted the bricopack folder But All there is left is the vista temp file. And it says i cannot delete it because "Folder Is Not Empty" Any answers? Please..i don't know what else to do.
Thanks | |
martin0001 Profil: New Penguin | There are many ways to try uninstall it.
Let's start:
1) Go Start menu -> All Programs -> Brico Packs -> Vista Inspirat 2 -> Remove Vista Inspirat 2.1.0
If it don't help try this:
2) Go C:\Windows and try to run files BricoPackFoldersDelete.exe and BricoPackUninst.exe
Now if there are folder BricoPacks, delete it.
Go C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes and delete there folders: Inspirat2 and Vista.(Make sure that the XP is current theme)
Now are all Inspirat files gone.

Alright my friends all you got to do to go back to your original or old Theme is go to your desktop right click. Then press on properties. Go to Themes and press the arrow there should be a list coming down if you want Windows XP Default Theme press on that if you want any other theme it will be Named | |
