I've just downloaded the Vista inspirat brico pack and installed it. Love the look, no slowdown, everything works, EXCEPT when I open a new window with Y'z Shadow on, they open off screen to the left. I was using the Move command to get them back onscreen, but not all windows have that option. Anyone have any idea what would cause this? I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

I had alresdy heard about this bug... but I couldn't find its reason.

are you sure Y'z Shadow is its cause? :jap:

I'm relatively sure that Y'z Shadow is the cause of the bug. When I have it turned on, the windows appear for a split second in their normal position, and then dissapear with the windows right edge just off the left side of the desktop. I can tell they're their because I can see the shadow provided by the program. If I turn it off, close the window and open it again (assuming it can be closed via the task bar, system menus cannot) it opens in it's default position on the desktop. Strange little bug. I'd love to know whats causing it. Have many other people reported it? I'm running Windows XP sp/2 at 1280x1024, with nothing else special running except the Vista Inspirat skin.

only too few people to find what's the cause of this bug...

try to uninstall Y'z Shadow (not the whole BricoPack...) and download it one more time from : SoftPedia

The big problem is that Y'z Shadow is no longer in development, and the source was never released (at least not to my knowledge).  So any bugs present are kind of stuck there.  :frown:

Well now, I answered my own question! The problem is in the Y'z Shadow settings. And I would imagine this only happens to people who have their taskbar set up like me.

I have my task bar at the top of the screen, and set to auto hide. I'm assuming something about this confuses the program as to where the taskbar is.

All you need to do to fix this problem is uncheck the box "Automatically adjust the position of an application window so that it does not overlap the taskbar."

Viola! Shadows work, windows don't dissapear. :smile: Hope this helps everyone.

No, I'm refering to the windows start menu bar. Up in your control panel on the start bar, where the clock is, there should be an icon for Y'z Shadow. Right click on that and go to settings. In there, click on the tab marked taskbar, and the last checkbox on the bottom is what you're looking for. :smile:
Sorry, should have been more specific. This has nothing to do with the dock.

If you haven't got the icon in you system tray, you can go to

c:/windows/bricopacks/inspirat/Yzshadow

Then find the file YzShadow configuration settings. It should be a 1k text file you can open in notepad. Change the very bottom value:

"MOVE_OVERLAP_WINDOW=1"

to

"MOVE_OVERLAP_WINDOW=0"

and save the file.

That should do it for you.

I'm not sure why you'd be having the problem if you haven't got YzShadow. It came with my installation of Bricopack Vista Inspiriat.
