Hey everyone, I have a question. I am going to install TinyXP Rev 09 (a modified version of Windows XP, but it STILL has uxtheme.dll and it's already patched) on my Compaq Armada M700 laptop which has been upgraded to have more RAM. Thing is - TinyXP IS a stripped-down version of Windows XP. Will this Bricopack work with it?

If someone out there has tried installing Vista Inspirat 2 on TinyXP before, please tell me if it's possible, and if it is, what I need to do to ensure everything will go smoothly.

INFO: TinyXP Rev 09 for all of you who don't know is essentially Windows XP Professional SP3 with a LOT of hotfixes, although many services and processes have been removed to make the installation under 600 MB.

All help is appreciated.

The bricopacks work upon TinyXP. I am using TinyXP + Vista Inspirat 2 and Its quite fast. TinyXP is still Windows so everything should work the same, just keep the CD in after installing TinyXP onto a HDD.

I never recommend to use such unofficially modified versions of Windows because despite of their greater speed they lack in many things :grrrrrr: the Bricopack might have worked fine in the beginning with it but I can't say that it will never make unusual issues with such a version of Windows :non: Welcome to CrXP BTW

Yes, I agree. Since TinyXP doesn't have all the system files a normal XP has, you may face problems with it..

Exactly  And also I don't think Bricopack installation will be just fine as noral since if the modified version is design for HD capacity under 600MB probably most of the fascinating features will be removed

Well, there is a list of all the things that have been removed, and it's mostly just unnecessary services and drivers. A bare install of TinyXP, however, would not be able to support VI2, that I know, because Themes are removed from XP in that install version.

I suppose I can install TinyXP and give it a try, and if things go wrong, I can just reformat and install, right?

Thanks, everyone, for your help.

So you'll not have what you desire in bricopacks with TinyXP

It's your call :boulay: (But if your computer is a faster one I don't see a reason to do such)
