I switched on the "Use a background image for each folders view" via system properties just to see what they looked like basically, and thought they looked ok.  Trouble is the background image in All Users/Shared Doc's/Shared Videos is missing.

Does anyone know how to switch this on ? I'm assuming a hack of a DLL file is required or a delve into the registry but I haven't got a clue where to start.  By the way,  I had to "invent" the My Videos files/folders as I don't install Movie Maker and they therefore do not show up.

This isn't life threatening etc. etc. but now I know it's missing it's driving me mad trying to get it to show up.

TIA

Elmer

The images from the "special folders" (Music, Video, Picture) are stored in the "shellstyle.dll" of the Visual-Style you use, maybe:

c:\windows\ressoruces\vista\shell\shellstyle.dll (it`s always in the shell-folder)

You can edit the BMP`s with Reshacker and a graphic-tool, or more easy:

You can use other Visual-Styles, VS are here, here or here.

Read this tutorial to change your VS

Next time when you install a bricopack disable Moviemaker, choose personalized install:

Sorry, failed to say I have VI 2 on XP home SP3.
I did get round it though, made a new folder on desktop, set attributes, and the name, copied and pasted desktop.ini over, finally deleted original and replaced with "New" shared visual media (video) folder.

Thanks a lot for the pointer for the visual styles DLL though as I'd like to (attempt) to make some 'watermarks' of my own.

Regards, Elmer
