Breakfastclub Profil: Penguin Pro | Hi st3w You alredy uninstalled the bricopack? The uninstaller begins and after all you rebooted? Now you still have old icons? What icons, please make a screenshot (from the explorer-toolbar too)? It`s importand to know exact whats you mean. Edit: Our rules only allow signature with 320x80 pixels and not over 40Kb - pls resize it, thanks
st3w Profil: New Penguin | man thats a small sig size. anyway aye, well, its odd really, the addon changes the shutting down box does it?? well, as far as i know its totally gone but the microsoft fix wont work unless its off, the ms website said it was this addon that was causing the problem in combination with avg, i canny find it anywhere
st3w Profil: New Penguin | ahh well you know what, never mind im going to ahve to totally reformat this thing has totally killed my pc i cant install anything, something to do with the latest ms update and AVG says he ms website.
Breakfastclub Profil: Penguin Pro | We have users around the world and some still on dialups (no DSL), thats why we have small signatures Try to download SP3, install SP3 should overwrite your systemfiles. Always install/uninstall the Bricopack in safemode (press F8 during bootprocess) st3w wrote :

Yes, most of our members use Photoshop, but GIMP is freeware and working fine too. You can find tutorials here how to use Photoshop for special effects
st3w Profil: New Penguin | hehe i need not look for special fx tuts on photoshop (i digi paint and stuff) anyway, alright ill try downloading SP3, its strange really, the error says the system DLL user32 was relocated in memory and the dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll occuped an address range reserved for systen DLLs i dont get it really, i mean i go to that^ folder and i have 9 different shell32 folders (duno if thats right or not) i mean, isnt there any way i can just totally revert windows to nothing (i cba reinstalling it but if iit has to be done-) yeh cus even system restore isnt helping me it wont go away thanks for the help too edit: i think i already have SP3 :\ ? okay edit edit: it was the inpirat pack i downloaded, i deleted every single theme, file, folder i found with the name "vista" and such, tried my best to remove, and now the theme and everything else appears to be gone HOWEVER, the icons remain, u know the vista icons for my computer etc... i have no idea where this thing is still lingering! but i cant install any games with it still here : (
ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | Having that many SHELL32's is right don't worry. System restore isn't helping? Even from a date before the install of inspirat? If not then at least it isn't a system file... Have you emptied all your caches and temp folders and such? Perhaps it's lingering in there.

Did you do an windows-xp online-update? This will overwrite your systemfiles. Seems like your uninstall don`t work completly, I think because you don`t install/uninstall it in safemode. Now your systemfiles still have some Vista-Icons, try to update XP ...
ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | He said he'd done a system restore, which restores his system files.

grimweeper Profil: New Penguin | In all honesty 'st3w' i`d get rid of the avg. I had that installed and quite alot of programes went funny with it. Things i`d try to uninstall would do but when i got a uninstall complete it wouldent be in add or remove but it would still be on my system. Im now using mcAfee and all my troubles have gone away.
st3w Profil: New Penguin | well 'grimweeper' its not jsut avg, its my sound card, the microsoft secruity update and this. okay, empty caches and temp folders? how would i go about doing that, not sure if ive done it or not!
ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | You should be able in the explorer to go to something like C Users/Me/AppData/Temp and there should be various files and folders around there, though I have to admit I've never done it with xp I had to do it with windows 98 and I did it with Vista to get rid of some malware, but my xp computer was always clean And did you say microsoft security update? Out of interest, does the automatic updater work? EDIT: And I suppose there is a possibility that, though AVG is not the problem, it may be contributing in some way. I suppose it could be interacting in some way with whatever is still lingering Also did you do the system restore under normal mode, or safe mode? If you haven't I would suggest doing a system restore, in safe mode. That fixed my laptop (Vista) once, even though a restore in normal mode did not.# And now I must go. Hope you fix it. Btw I mentioned automatic updater as I had that stop working along with most of my laptop (vista) after installing the VISTA OSX editing kit. System restore under safe mode fixed it.
st3w Profil: New Penguin | hmm, alright then, i tell u wat ill give safe mod restore another try and if stil no luck, ill just reinstall ol'windows XP - all my important stuff is on an external drive so there wont be any real harm done. thanks for all the replies and such : ) cute penguins btw
