Hey guys,
I have a big problem...I uninstalled Vista Inspirat 2, I rebooted and now I still have the Sysfiles and I have the vista sounds(ex. the recycle bin sound).

I also get some error messages like 'Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for inconvenience.' There are more errors like this one but I can't remember exactly.

Please...I need help.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Corcorino!

You uninstalled the Bricopack now? In safemode?

1.)

you can delete the folder C:\Windows\BricoPacks
and these files in the C:\Windows folder:
- BricoPackFolderDelete.cmd
- BricoPackLock.lock
- BricopackUninst.cmd
- BricoPackUninst.txt

2.)

Update windows - maybe install SP3, this will overfwrite your systemfiles

or

try a repair-install of XP, this will overwrite your systemfiles too, but you need to update windows after this.

3.)

You can change the sound here.

In most cases "yes" - because windows monitors that you change systemfiles. In Safemode (press F8) XP will have reduced functionality, it`s more easy to replace the icons/bmps/avis.

Install and uninstall Bricopacks in safemode for full compatibility.

OK, I'm so stupid...

Let me ask again:
I already uninstalled Vista Inspirat 2 in the normal mode (my bad). So now I have to delete those files in the normal mode too?

Yes   :oui:

Then update XP online, maybe install SP3 (in normal-mode)

If everythings works fine and you want to install the bricopack do it in safemode

I already have SP3.

So if I want to install something it's recommended to do it in the Safe Mode.(I never was in Safe mode before  )

Thanks a lot!You're great!

Anyway, after uninstall a Bricopack do an online-update, then you´re sure all your systemfiles are new and secure.

Hey Breakfast Club :) I was wondering if you could help me with a similar issue to Corcorino.

My issue began when i decided to defragment my D drive (C drive my primary drive with Windows files etc.) D drive used for music/movies etc. and also some programs I have installed, including Vista Inspirat.
I stopped the defrag less than 5% in, as it was not needed anyway, i thought it would be okay to exit. 2 days later, i noticed many of the programs i had installed on D drive could not be opened any longer, and their folders removed from my D drive...it must have been the partial defrag. As defrag uses RAM, and stopping halfway and shutting my machine down clears RAM and therefore deletes the contents.
Now I come to Vista Inspirat, like the other programs installed on my D Drive, the files etc. are no longer there, and I cannot simply do:

start menu --> Programs --> BricoPacks --> Remove Vista Inspirat 2 1.0
Note: The folders and files ^^^^^ are still there, but shows a blank icon and once clicked on Windows cannot find it.
UberIcon is still installed and running fine however, which amazes me! ;)

Now i have read the threads and understand the files etc. that are in C:\WINDOWS\BricoPacks. The files are still there, but i cannot completely remove the Theme from Windows without the "Remove Vista Inspirat 2 1.0", but was tempted to just delete the associated files:
BricoPackFoldersDelete.cmd
BricoPackUninst.cmd
BricoPackUninst.txt
Here comes the stupid part, i double clicked on BricoPackUninst.cmd. I know what clicking the .cmd file has done, but luckily i havent suffered the consequences of completely messing my Windows theme/icons/sounds.
I have no restore point before Bricopack, as it is over a year ago, loved Vista Inspirat so much i have used it since, and will do once i fix this issue.

How can I uninstall Vista Inspirat/Bricopack? and will somehow getting the Remove.exe from a helpful member on these forums completely remove the theme?

Thanks alot for your time and help.
Sav.

Thanks alot legace, it removed Vista Inspirat Bricopack successfully.

Ive still got the sound and one icon, My Pictures, as a Vista Inspirat folder icon, a renegade probably ;)
However, the Remove.exe works, thanks again.

It seems that I still have Vista Inspirat installed on my computer, and has not been completely removed.

I can see the theme is still there when i go via Desktop - Right Click - Properties - Display Properites - Appearance

Also I still have the files in C:/WINDOWS:

- BricoPackFolderDelete.cmd
- BricoPackLock.lock
- BricopackUninst.cmd
- BricoPackUninst.txt

Can I delete these now that I have removed Vista Inspirat? and should I use the Remove.exe in safe mode one more time.
