| FrSu Profil: New Penguin | Hello, Upgraded my XP system to SP3. My Vista Insparat installation is gone with the update. Anyone experience with installing VI on SP3? Best regards, Frits | |
poiru Profil: Moderator | It is reccomended to uninstall the Bricopacks before installation of SP3. I suggest you 1) uninstall SP3, then uninstall the Bricopack 2) Install SP3 3) Install the Bricpack I have VI2 with SP3 and it works fine. Just do like I said above

FrSu Profil: New Penguin | Thanks for your quick response. I do not have Bricopacks in my programfiles anymore. Also not in my software list. I gess going back to SP2 will not bring back the program. Regards, Frits

- Uninstall SP3 - Uninstall Bricopack: Boot in safemode (press F8 during bootprocess) and check the folder: c:\windows\bricopack doubleclick the remove.exe if you find the folder and the file? - Install SP3
Delete the folder c:\windows\bricopack and these files if they are also in the C:\Windows folder: - BricoPackFolderDelete.cmd - BricoPackLock.lock - BricopackUninst.cmd - BricoPackUninst.txt - Install Bricopack
FrSu Profil: New Penguin | checked Windows/Bricopacks/Sysfiles. Remove.exe is not there. I see a lot of Items numbered 1 up to 162 and Ux_uxtheme.dll Does this mean that it is not installed anymore? And can I install Bricopack again? Rocketdock was not effected bij SP3. Regards, Frits

Hi Frits, thats bad ... Ok, you had installed a bricopack and installed SP3 over it (and everything works fine now)? I would say delete the folder C:\Windows\BricoPacks and these files in C:\Windows folder: - BricoPackFolderDelete.cmd - BricoPackLock.lock - BricopackUninst.cmd - BricoPackUninst.txt Then all files from the bricopack are gone, SP3 is working, now you can install the new Bricopack (in Safemode F8)
FrSu Profil: New Penguin | Deleted the files. Will restart Windows to see if everything is working. After that I will try it first on my laptop. If it is ok I will install it on my main computer. Will let you know. Thanks for your help. Best regards, Frits

FrSu Profil: New Penguin | Had the same files and maps left on my laptop. Deleted the files, restarted and installed Bricopack. It works fine! I now feel safe enough to do it on my main PC. Let you know. Frits
FrSu Profil: New Penguin | Everything looks fine. If a problem occurs, I will let you know! I am happy to have the old (new) looks again. Thanks for your help. Best regrads, Frits
poiru Profil: Moderator | Happy you solved the problem. Enjoy the "old" look again Oh, and have a nice stay here at CrystalXP.
FrSu Profil: New Penguin | Thanks, XP rocks with Bricopack! No Vista for me. Best regards, Frits
Breakfastclub Profil: Penguin Pro | I agree enjoy your XP
| |
poiru Profil: Moderator | I completely agree with that. Even though SP1 did bring some improvements (especially to UAC) to Vista, XP is still so much faster and a better system. The only thing in Vista that I would want in XP is the Explorer and Aero. I will stick around with XP until Windows 7, and if that sucks too, its a goodbye from me to Microsoft as by that time Ubuntu will be even better than it is now
