i just reinstalled my computer, and of course i don't wanna wait to install a brico pack...but i just can't download it!

sometimes i get the error message:

425 failed to establish connection

sometimes, instead, a page (in firefox 3) appears where it is written:

Index of ftp://ftp.crystalxp.net/crystalxp.net/463...net-en-130.zip/

Up to higher level directory
Name  Size  Last Modified
--

anyone knows what's going wrong?
by googling it you only find topics on ftp servers...

actually i tried 1000 times but it didn't worked out. i also tried with fireftp (in passive modus) without succes since i don't have authorization.

since crystal clear is also available on an http server of this homepage i downloded that one. but today i found vista inspirat on an http server of a french homepage. now everything is fine, at least what is related to the brico pack!

actually it is a general problem to download from ftp servers (on every homepage), don't know why...but here it's probably not the right place for this problem...but if anyone has an idea let me know!

Are you running any Firewall software? Are you using a Router? If you do, you might need to open up a port to allow connection.

thanks for your suggestions, but the problem persists even when disabling the firewall and i'm not using a router.

anyway, brico pack is working fine now.

i just wanted to understand what problem this could be since i will definetely need again to download from a ftp server in future...

im experiencing the same problem. each time i try to go onto an app, it says failed to establish connection. i think that its the router problem. can u help me open up a port?
