First off is the white blank square in place of the user image.

I have seen a bunch of those other threads... my dpi is set at normal. I as well have the welcome screen disabled and have changed the picture numerous times. I'm lost!

Also, (could just be an xp thing) I was moving around the pinned icons on the start menu, and not sure what I did but it is now realllly tall. Meaning theres a huge blank space of no icons, it doesn't condense itself down anymore. (removing all the icons puts it back to normal, but pinning even one thing will make it grow huge again)

Looks like you realy search the forum - thats are all the answers I would give you    Try google

For the startmenu, right click the startbutton, properties, customize, there are the number of apps in the startmenu

thanks breakfast club that worked for the start menu (I just set it to 0 apps and it shrunk)

Ill keep looking for the white icon thing.

Enable the welcome-screen, then Windows should show userpictures

Hmm. I think he means the user picture on Windows. Not CrXP.
