Hi all, I just love the Brico pack. Have been using it for months now with no probs whatsoever. Just recently I have noticed a 'mark' or frame impression that stays imprinted in the desktop....it goes after a while , but also takes the dock with it....as soon as the dock is replaced the impression returns.....any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Right-click on desktop and click Refresh.

Often this black thing means that Y'z Shadow is running right? Perhaps you can try to disable this program first. Go to Start -> All Programs -> BricoPacks -> Y'z Shadow and try to disable or uninstall it. Sorry if the names aren't completely perfect, I'm doing this from the back of my head.

:hello: Gruzz
I had the same thing happen when I was running Y'z shadow. The refresh worked for me.

Ok, that would be an easy solution! :happy2: If it doesn't work for you, try the one which I have proposed. :great:

Thanks guys.....Y'z shadows is not in the Brico start/menu......refreshing on the desktop does nothing.....opening the Brico dialogue box returns the 'dock AND the untidy shadow. I have read 'between the lines' a bit and removed Y'z from the Start menu....it is not listed in the installed list......

This is a brand new XP SP2 re-install with ALL the M$ updates. It's the 5th machine I've done and only had probs with the last 2.....one PC and the other a Dell D520 Latitude that wouldn't load Xp from the Dell CD but loaded fine from my back-up copy that has scratches and the lot!

Will see how it goes on the next re-boot.

Thanks again....had a good wander around the site earlier and wish I had 1000th the talent as you guys....keep up the great work. Cheers.

I'm back.....removing Y'z from the start menu fixed it....so I'm GOOD!

I don't know what the heck of a difference in the installs are.....I know my PC has at least 4 or 5 entries....this one now has Dock, Uber and transbar....guess I can live without the Y'z shadow for a while??

Thanks again.....

Hi driver33b !

The phantom-shadow is a know bug from Yzshadow. You need to look at your task list to see what running process might have an invisible window resident on the desktop. then, add that to y'z exclusion list.

Search to forum for "phantom box", then you can use Yzshadow without any problem ...
