The UxTheme patcher will make themes (Visual-styles) work, but the pack will not work. You probably wont get the icons, sounds, cursors, etc.

You know, install a 64bits version of Microsoft XP/Vista is not a good idea, a lot of software and drivers are not compatible...

Win Xp64x is twice as fast, and utilizes the 64bit/Dual Core technology.  It has gotten a lot better about the drivers and such, and is so much more stable than any version of Vista.

No, thats not true. It's not really twice as fast eventhough it is faster than the 32-bits.
It's like the processor cores. Let's say a one core prosessor gets 100 points. With a dual core, the points are more like 160-180.

And can't most of the software work in 32bit compatible mode?

read the reviews on xp 64x.  Lot more stable than xp home or pro.  I don't know why people would defend a slower OS - today is the day of 64-bit.  Tomorrow, 32-bit will end up being the floppy drives of today.

Unfortunately, there's not many 64bit apps. Running a 32bit app on a 64bit system won't make it run faster.

No :non:

But you can change most icons without the bricopack ...

I am sorry , But
I disagree with some of you people about Windows XP x64 vs Vista.
I have been working on computers for over 20 years, I started with UNIX back in the 70's for a short time, (mostly in college and the work I did {Engineering}).
When Bill Gates came out with Windows 1.1, I tried it, was ok but DOS was better, then 3.5 had major improvements. Since then I have upgraded over and over again,(one lesson I learned was to wait till the SP1 packs were released, before upgrading).

Currently I have 12 Computers, (I use 5 all the time now, some of the others are in the attic now).
This one is a Gigabyte p965-ds3 v1, with a C2Duo 6420 (2.13Ghz), 2.5 Tbyt's of Hdd's and 6Gig of mem, using a nVidia 8600GTS vid card. Running 5 Operating Systems: WinXPsp2-x64, WinXPsp3, WinVistasp1-x64, Win2ksp4 and  Linux version kubuntu-8.04-beta-desktop-amd64.
I have configured and Benchmark tested the WinXP-x64 against the Vistax64 at similar to equal settings and found that the Windows XP Pro x64 runs at about 20% faster than Vista :boulay: , in almost all benchmark tests, the closest that Vista came to was at 14% slower in a Video Graphics test.

Now I am not a programmer like you at CrystalXP, the only programming I do is CAD designing (Engineering) and some VB for Excel, so I am not able to improve on these designs you make. You are impressive to me.
And the Appearance is not that special to me, but the functionality in some of the design is more impressive to me.
I especially like the RocketDock design, because of the ease of getting to the apps I need and use often.
One modification program I like for its abilities is the WinStep program, but it still has a couple of glitches to fix, mostly minor ones.

I would hope that you would work on making the BricoPacks compatible with x64 Operating Systems.
