I was wondering why the start menu was a little messed up. The picture that you or rather I use doesn't show up in the box and a few things are off. And when I boot up my computer the icon with the arrow and the power icon have like a pink box around them. Is it supposed to be like that. Image below.

Go to your desktop.
Right click Properties Select the Settings tab Press the Advanced button Select normal font size Press OK restart your computer and it should be fine

Welcome to CrystalXP, did you disabled the welcome-screen of XP ?

Windows sometimes only show userpictures when the welcome-screen is enabled
