| redpanther_de Profil: New Penguin | Hi, I accidently (during moving my XP to my new system) deleted the Vista Brico Pack (BTW, great work! . So I thought I simply reinstall it again. But it won't let me, bringing the message above. He asks if he should uninstall the Pack, but its doing noting. I have manually deleted everything related to Brico in C:\windows. Tried to install in save mode. I used the theme patcher to unpatch. All didn't help. So what is the installer looking for? Please help? Want to see again the nice skin! Thanks in advanced. Peter | |

When you are sure that you uninstalled the Bricopack: Delete C:\Windows\BricoPacks and these files if they are also in the C:\Windows folder: - BricoPackFolderDelete.cmd - BricoPackLock.lock - BricopackUninst.cmd - BricoPackUninst.txt

Try to install the Bricopack in safe mode after this..
redpanther_de Profil: New Penguin | Thanks, but I deleted already all those files and the dir. Also tried afterwards to install in save mode. Always the same message. No go. I searched the windows dir and the registry for "brico" but found nothing. Any other advise? Please help!

Strange ... when nothing on your HD/Registry called *brico*.* then I wonder about the warning Can you make a system-restore-point before the bricopack ? Maybe install CCleaner or Tune-Up-Utilities, clean the HD and Registry again, check the install/uninstall-list and try it again ...
redpanther_de Profil: New Penguin | I disabled system-restore... Guess I'm a bit overconfident. CCleaner found some stuff, but it didn't help. I looked again at the registry and now I found some more entries, but I didn't want to fiddle with that, I got a better idea. I transfered the brico files in the windows folder from a second PC and then started the uninstall from the start menu, et voila, afterwards I could start again install. Thanks to all for their support. Much appreciated.

Any suggestions on how to make this happen without a second computer? I am having the same issue - "Another Shell Pack already installed..." I have removed every file in the Windows directory related to bricopack, and still no luck. Any suggestions much appreciated. LarryW

Brilliant idea! Peter K can you email me directly with this zip file? Let me know. Larry
redpanther_de Profil: New Penguin | I copied the whole "brico" folder and the 4 files that previously were recommended to delete inside c:\windows. After that the unistall in the Brico start menu did work fine.

mod_desolator Profil: New Penguin | Hi I'm having the same problem. Got a nasty Virtumond virus, cleaned it and repaired the XPinstallation, but the Vista Brico Pack wasn't fully intact, so I ran the installation, then it said it was already installed, do I want to remove it. So I clicked yes but nothing happens and now I can't get to reinstall the Brico Pack Can you zip and upload the files you used to solve the problem? It would be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance. -Des
