| tfaubus Profil: New Penguin | Hi all, I installed the Bricopack Vista Inspirat 2 Ultimate (the newest) as administrator in safe mode and as a specific user. Everything works fine for those but the old XP system sounds are still set for all the other users. How do I install the system default sounds automatically for ALL? I don't like to hear the old XP sounds anymore at all... Thanks! Tony | |

Welcome to CrystalXP, Tony ! Good question, I`m not sure ... I think you need to install them in every account manual. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\.here are stored the sound Maybe someone else know a better way
poiru Profil: Moderator | Well just make a new sound theme in the sound manager and then apply it one by one for all users It's a little slow, but it will work
tfaubus Profil: New Penguin | So I logged in to my account with all the vista sounds working. I went to the sound manager and saved the sound scheme as Vista Inspirat. Then I logged off and logged into a different account that has XP sounds. I opened the sound manager to look for my saved Vista Inspirat but it is not there. Ok, so I check the registry and it shows as vista 0 in there so I search the hard drive for anything I could use as a sound scheme with vista name in it and come up with nothing. So, It seems I am stuck having to uninstall and reinstall Vista Inspirat 2 for each user to get the vista sounds for all. What a pain in the behind...

Stop ! You don`t need to install the Bricopack for every user ... Here is a Vista-Soundpack-Installer, try to tun it in ever account ...
tfaubus Profil: New Penguin | Oooh, thank you. Bummer though they're not the same sounds... I suppose the link gives the real MS Vista sounds but I think I like the ones from Vista Inspirat MUCH better. I appreciate the help though.
Cyklone Profil: New Penguin | Hi: You can export the registry keys for an existing user that has the Inspirat sounds installed and working. You will need to go to the Sound Scheme manager in Control Panel and save the existing sound scheme, so to create a sound scheme name. I attached a reg file to this in RAR format (sorry, don't use zip no mo' that will do it all in one easy step. Unrar it and double-click on the extracted Inspirat2_Sounds.reg file to import into your registry. It first creates a sound scheme name, then modifies all the sound entries. Hope it helps... have used it on several accounts on my computers.
poiru Profil: Moderator | Thanks for the registry patch. I am sure it will help many (But, this is a pretty old topic, so you could have just made a new one..)

You need to copy all the Vista_*.wav files in WINDOWS/Media and apply the sounds manually (not sure if the reg. file will work as its for XP)..

Start Menu -> Run -> type in regedit and press Enter.
Then browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default
Right-click on .Default and select "Export". Export to a location where all users have access.
Now logon to the users without the sound, find the file you just saved, double-click it, and press Yes/OK ---------------
