Hey guys, I'm using the latest Vista Inspirat 2 BricoPack and I also have that nasty KB925902 patch installed. I also have AVG 7.5 Internet Security installed. The problem I'm getting is that when I try to open AVG Control Centre, I get this error message "This function has been disallowed by the system administrator"

Now I know for certain I haven't messed about with any administrator settings as this is a clean installation of Windows XP Home, with me as the sole user (with administrator rights etc).

Is this error I'm getting caused by BricoPack and KB925902 ? I'm not getting any DLL errors (yet lol). I hope it's something simple so that I don't have to uninstall the BricoPack :frown:

thanks in advance
Andy

Hi Andy !

No, this is not because the KB925902-Update ...

Your Bricopack, version 2, will not have the dll-error, it`s fixed in 2

Can you uninstall AVG and install it again ?

Hello,

When i was trying to fix the KB925902 with the steps on this topic and i encountered a problem i must of did something wrong. After i did all the steps i restarted my computer and now it keeps restarting after the windows logo screen goes off. i've found out what happined. I got this error message saying,

(c0000135 {Unable To Locate Component}
This application has failed to start because USER32.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem).

I don't know how to fix this. I've tryed everything and ive looked all over the internet and couldnt find anything on it that would tell me how to fix this problem. Ive tryed save mode and all the other ways but nothing works it just keeps restarting.

Does anyone know what to do to fix this problem???

Thank, Tyler

P.S. I dont have the recovery CD or The Windows XP CD eather. Ive must of lost them

Search your harddisc (with windows,  mostly c:) for "user32.dll" - often windows has a backup ...

Do you have a startdisc (floppy), boot with startdisc to dosprompt:

A:

change path to

C:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\

Type DIR

Maybe rename your user32.dll ...

--------------------

Or ask a friend to help you, copy his user32.dll onto the floppy,

a:

Type

copy user32.dll C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\

--------------------

Or ask a friend if he knows Knoppixor any other "LiveCD", you can boot into Linux, browse to your windows-hd ...

--------------------

When you rename/patch systemfiles, always make backups and always be careful !

On the linux-desktop are all your harddrives (HDA, ...), right click your windowshardrive
and choose "Can read and write" - thats it, now you can write on this HD ...

Copy the file into C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\

Hi,

Automatic updates installed today KB943460 and after I restarted the system Windows was running very slow, even worst then beafore I pached user32.dll after KB925902. I could not even start internet explorer, so I replaced from another OS shell32.dll and strated Windows. Then I uninstalled KB943460 and now my system is working better but not so fast as beafore.

Should shell32.dll be pached manualy somehow?

P.S. The other file upgraded by this security fix is xpsp3res.dll

I finaly solved the problem that was caused by other programs, a download manager and a antivirus that were residents in memory. I recompiled many programs with the latest masm32 librarys and will recompile others if I will be able to install .net 3.5 required by visual c++ 2008.
Now I installed KB943460 manualy and windows is working as it should

Hi ojhasd61

This error happens only with old Bricopacks, install "Vista Inspirat2" or "Crystal Clear" (uninstall/install your Bricopack in safemode, press F8 during bootprocess)
