| singhal_chetanya Profil: New Penguin | Hi First of all, I'd like to congratulate the creators of Brickopacks for their excellent work! Now my problem- - When I press the 'Show Desktop' button from QuickLaunch the rocket dock dissappears. I tried the 'show on mouseover' thingy so that even if the dock dissappears (after pressing show desktop button) I can get it back just by scrolling my mouse to the top. But it is annoying as when any window is open and I take the cursor to the top of the screen, the dock appears on top of the window! I went through various topics in the forum but couldn't find any on the above, I am sorry if it has been repeated. Thanks! | |
Gruzz Profil: Moderator | Welcome to the forum. I had the same problem with 'show desktop', it looks like rocketdock will get minimized.
darkstone Profil: New Penguin | Try this .. download attached file and unrar place the show desktop file in your windows directory make a shortcut to the file on your desktop drag the shortcut into your taskbar use the new shortcut in your taskbar to show desktop and Rocketdock should still be available Worked for me anyway Good luck
kraven001 Profil: Big Penguin | the same happens with windows vista's sidebar (in windows vista) ... so ... i guess is a "design feature" of windows to clean everything when the show desktop shortcut is utilized.

nataja Profil: New Penguin | Hello! One more question concerning show desktop and rocketdock issue. Is it possible to modify somehow settings for the combination: Winkey +D to obtain the same result as with using the trick with this file attached above? Positive answer would give me a 100% satisfaction with using RD Greetz!

Maybe you can use WIN + M instead Or, you could assign a custom hotkey, like CTRL + ALT + D by rightclicking on the file, select Properties, and there is a textbox to assign a hotkey.

legace Profil: Moderator | No problem Enjoy your stay in CrXP!
chrisg_021 Profil: New Penguin | hmm i like the shortcut (rar) but i need to figure out how to change the shortcut "windows key+d to windows+m" if you have figured it out first, can you email me at chisg_021@yahoo.com that would be a great help..thnx =) CXP
legace Profil: Moderator | You can't change WIN + D to WIN + M. They are seperate shortcuts.. WIN+D = show desktop WIN+M = minimize all windows
fsonline Profil: New Penguin | hey, i don't find any attached file here, so how can I download the fix?
sophiar Profil: New Penguin | Hi to all!
I recently had to reformat my PC (which previously ran bricopack with no problems.
My problem now is that Rocket Dock no longer appears. At all!
Things I have tried:
Making sure it is activated in the configuration settings
Uninstall/reinstall
Uninstall/reinstall in safe mode
Trying different types of install eg 'classic', full, custom
Despite all this, I still cannot get it to appear.
Any ideas??
Win XP SP2 | |
Neil Everyday is a Countdown Profil: Penguin Pro | Well sophiar, when you're installing the bricopack, what was the type of installation you choosed? or did you select to install the rocket dock?
Did you try to run the application from its installed location?

As I stated in my post, I tried several different types of install.. classic/full/custom .. none of which made the RD appear. Yes, on each install I selected RD to be installed. When I check the config, it says it is ON.
Yes, I have tried running the app from its installed location. If I try to run the RD module.. nothing happens.
If I click it or right click and select open.. nothing happens. It is not listed in Task Manager either.

You can try downloading Rocket Dock & installing it
When installing, try to give the previous path and see whether it works or yo can do a clean install ---------------

Hi Neil
Thanks for the reply.
I tried downloading and installing RD from the link you gave, still no RD appears.
I have tried installing so many times now. Clean/existing/updating and any other way I can think of. However, nothing seems to work. All the other parts of the bricopack work (uber/transbar etc), it's only RD that never appears.
It must actually be running though because when I tried to install it from the link you gave, it said it detected another RD running. So... it's actually running, but its entirely invisible. Nothing I do makes it appear. This is most frustrating!!
Neil Everyday is a Countdown Profil: Penguin Pro | Hmm That's odd
Did you try installing RD to C> Program files
And I forgot to mention you to quit RD before installing the new version,
You cn do it from the bricopack config & you can see RD or its running .exe in task manager to quit it ---------------

Yes, I installed RD to C/program Files ( I have tried 4 times now) and STILL it is not visible.
Task Manager says it is running (but only using 84k) BUT it is not visible.
Whats next? | |

what i'm seeking is the attachment mentioned in the following post. i guess it should be a script just likes the one 'display desktop' button references.

i don't wanna set RocketDock always on top, it annoys sometimes, but i do wanna RocketDock remains when i press win+d. according to above posts, there is no perfect solution for my situation. an alteration way is i use 'display desktop' button instead of win+d, meanwhile, i must use the attachment mentioned above to modify the default 'display desktop' action. am i right?
