"Start Menu -> All programms -> BricoPacks -> CrystalXP -> Uninstall".  :pen:
Or via "Add/Remove programms" in "Control Panel".
Then you can install Longhorn Inspirat.  :oui:

And welcome on CrystalXP.

We install bricopacks on Safe Mode to avoid the conflicts with antivirus programs and other file protections :oui:

But I don't see of a need in uninstalling in Safe Mode :non:

(But I won't say that it's bad)

"Start Menu -> All programms -> BricoPacks -> CrystalXP -> Uninstall". pen.gif wink.gif
Or via "Add/Remove programms" in "Control Panel".

Hey thanks for your advice but i have already tried this and it will not work i tried putting in a different bricopack to uninstall the Vista one but all that happen was it did the exact same thing through installation it froze about a third of the way through, both vista and longhorn bricopacks did this to me, now i have a mix between the two which is really weird. All i want to do is completly remove all bricopacks and all their features from my computer and the uninstall icons for either the longhorn nor vista bricopack are not displayed in the all programs menu nor the add/or remove programs menu please help.

Thanks

This is realy bad - I`m not sure but when you install a second Bricopack
over another Bricopack then you loose your original files as backup and
become a backup with the previous Bricopack ...

(usualy Bricopacks should lock to instal a new Bricopack ?)

When you have only one Bricopack I would say browse to the Bricopack-Folder
in windows and copy the backups return into your system, best with Live-Linux,
but right now ?

Maybe try to get a list of the changed files and copy them back from the windows-cd
or if you had enough time, backup your files and format c:   :ah:

Okay, one tipp, buy a good backup-image-software (Norton Ghost) and make
a mirror of your system with all the programs you need and specialy when
you are customize your systemfiles you need this - you can install the image
in a few minutes. When I start now I have a fresh XP in 4 minutes with all programs
I need ...

Aydin, it was not a good idea to install a second bricopack, maybe some1 else can help ?

Thanks for your reply you have been a great help now that i have uninstalled most on the vista look-alike programs from my computer it runs at the normal speed again, but i was getting bored of the vista look and was wondering if there was anyway for me to put the default icons in again as i have restored most other things other than the logon screen but i dont really care about that so if you could help me restore the default icons again it would be great.

Hi Aydin !

What you can try is an windows-xp-update, I think last
time shell32.dll was replaced too, then the update replace your
bricopack-files ...

Do you have a original-xp-cd ? You can replace the files too ...

Maybe some other has ideas ?

Soo i was just wondering if i could do it this way:
All the computers in our house are networked together so what files would i need to take from my brothers windows folder to be able to restore my icons, and i have changed my icons soo by putting these files into the windows folder will it revert all my icons to default XP ones instantly or will my customized icons change until i decide to revert back?

Thanks
Aydin

Hi Aydin !

You can`t do an windows-update (online) ?

Do you have one of these folder ?
C:\WINDOWS\BricoPacks\Crystal Clear\PackFiles
and/or
C:\WINDOWS\BricoPacks\SysFiles

If yes, you need to replace all the files from other XP`s ...

Yes, the network@ home works too, you can copy some files onto your HD and replace `em.

Replacer-Freeware, Replacer can replace files in windows, otherwise in windows-xp you have a "file protection", this mean when you repalce a dll windows ask for the windows-cd to oeverwrite the file with a windows file, thats bad for customizing systemfiles ...

To create a list of files we need help now:

1.) Importand is "shell32.dll" in %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll

Put the "shell32.dll" from your brother into your replacer-folder and run it ...

:meuh:

Edit:

This would be he best way, setup a fresh XP-Install, make backups and then you
can change some bricopacks a day and replace to the new system in a few
minutes ...

What icons do you wanna un-install ? Your system is a windows-xp-system, I see no other icons ?

When you have uninstalled the bricopack you can delete the folder \windows\bricopacks\<- detele the folder

Refresh the icon cache by deleting the IconCache.db file from your profile directory (usually C:/Documents and Settings/Username/Local Settings/Application Data).  Then everything should be fine ...

For some reason, Uninstall isn't listed under the Brico Packs/Vista Inspirat folder and it isn't listed under Add/Remove Programs, either.

I've had it for a few months and I wanted to try Longhorn Inspirat, but I don't know how to uninstall it if both of those aren't listed.

You might want to do a repair install.. That'd be the easiest way out.. :)

There will be a batch file called bricopackunist in your windows folder. Not in any subfolders just the parent C:/Windows.
Run This!
