So I've uninstalled all my BricoPacks but I've had a few... And what I'd like to happen is that everything goes back to my regular XP appearance. The thing I'd like to change is the battery icon in the task tray.

So do you mean that you've uninstalled the Bricopack, but the battery icon has not returned to the XP default style?

Maybe refresh the icon cache  
 
Download TweakUI (from Microsoft, right side), install it, at the bottom you have the option "REPAIR", chose repair icons (reboot) ...
