First, you need to uninstall the Bricopack. Then, you need to install it again. But when installing, select the Custom Install option. There, do not check the Movie Maker option. Remember to check all the options you want. After the installation, Movie Maker should work.

That's exactly the same dock, but you must change the skin of it. You can do so from the settings
(You must also change the icons manually) | |

COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS WITH THE BRICOPACKS
This post contains common problems with the Bricopacks and offers solutions to them.
The following problems are covered in this post:
- The taskbar has a Windows 2000 look
- The Explorer (e.g. My Computer) windows do not have a title
- All user accounts do not have the new look provided by the Bricopacks
- Windows Movie Maker does not function properly
- The start menu does not look right
- The Windows Explorer (e.g. My Computer) does not look right
- A "Another Shell Pack is already installed on your computer" dialog pops up when you try to install a Bricopack
- Windows displays wrong icons
If someone thinks that a common problem is missing, just let me know.

PROBLEM: The taskbar has a Windows 2000 look
http://img377.imageshack.us/img377 [...] barei3.png
SOLUTION
To get the custom styles working, you need to patch a file called UxTheme.dll
If the Bricopack has failed to patch the UxTheme.dll, you need to do it manually.
To patch the UxTheme, download and run the Patcher (for Windows XP) from:
Here for Windows XP SP2.
Here for Windows XP SP3.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM: The Explorer (e.g. My Computer) windows do not have a title
http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/6929/notextng3.png
SOLUTION
Restart your computer, and this problem should be fixed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM: All user accounts do not have the new look provided by the Bricopacks
SOLUTION
Log on to a user account without the new style. Then right click on the desktop, and select Properties. Now open the Appearance tab.
http://img384.imageshack.us/img384 [...] nceeh3.png
There, click on the drop-down list below the Windows and buttons and change your style. Remeber to press OK.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM: Windows Movie Maker does not function properly
SOLUTION
First, you need to uninstall the Bricopacks. Then, you need to install it again. But when installing, select the Custom Install option. There, do not check the Movie Maker option. Remember to check all the options you want. After the installation, Movie Maker should work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM: The start menu does not look right
http://img116.imageshack.us/img116 [...] enuuj4.png
SOLUTION
Go to your desktop. Then, right click and select Properties. Then select the Settings tab. Press the Advanced button. Select the normal font size (96 DPI).
For a image of the above process, you can click here.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM: The Windows Explorer (e.g. My Computer) does not look right
http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/9967/explh8.png
SOLUTION
Download and run the patcher from the link below:
Download patcher
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM: A "Another Shell Pack is already installed on your computer" dialog pops up when you try to install a Bricopack
http://img392.imageshack.us/img392 [...] aclee2.png
SOLUTION
Make sure you've uninstalled all Bricopacks. If you are sure, and it doesn't work, do the following:
Delete the C:\WINDOWS\BricoPacks folder
Also delete the following files (in C:\WINDOWS) if you find them
- BricoPackFolderDelete.cmd
- BricoPackLock.lock
- BricopackUninst.cmd
- BricoPackUninst.txt
Now the installation should work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEM: Windows displays wrong icons
SOLUTION
You need to clear the Icon Cache. To do so, download and install TweakUI. The open the Start Menu -> All Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP -> TweakUI. At the the bottom of the TweakUI window, you have the Repair option. Select Repair icons and press Repair Now (then reboot computer)..
Download TweakUI

I don't unfortunately have the patcher anymore, and I have no idea why the download doesn't work Sorry.
This is an alternative way to do it, and it will work, too

Thanks for your post! I'm sure it will help many people
Here is an easier version to follow:
1. Open Display Properties > Appearance. Change the Visual-style to the Windows XP default (the blue one)
2. Download ResHack: Download link. After download, unzip the ResHack.zip file and double-click on ResHack.exe
3. On ResHack, open shellstyle.dll which can be found in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Inspirat2\Shell\NormalColor (This one is Aero Green)
4. Expand the UIFILE [on the left bar of ResHack], then expand 1 and then click on 1033 (or whatever you have, since it may differ with different languages)
5. Open the ResHack File-menu -> Find text [or press CTRL and F at the same time
6. Search for <style resid=taskpane>. Below <style resid=taskpane> you can see three lines of text that you will have to change.
CODEChange the:
background: rcbmp(120,6,0,0,0,1,0);
borderthickness: rect(4,4,4,4);
padding: rect(4rp,4rp,0rp,0rp);
to:
background: rcbmp(120,5,0,0,0,1,0);
borderthickness: rect(8,8,8,2);
padding: rect(1rp,1rp,1rp,1rp);
You can do this for the Aero Blue and Black too.

Frank62 Profil: New Penguin | Hello, I am having problems removing Vista Inspirat. I love it, and I want it back, but I need to install SP3. When I click Start > Programs > Vista Inspirat > Remove Vista Inspirat, I get the message that the removal file cannot be found. Which is not so strange, because the folder in which it should be located does not exist: C:\Windows\Skins\Vista Inspirat 2\Remove.exe. There is no folder "Skins" under C:\Windows. I cannot even find a folder Vista Inspirat 2, except the folders with the .exe file and the shortcuts. When I try to remove it via Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, it says that the program has already been removed. But this is not true, because I still have the Vista Inspirat Shell, including icons and bars. I also tried removing matters manually: C:\WINDOWS\BricoPacks folder, and under WINDOWS:
- BricoPackFolderDelete.cmd
- BricoPackLock.lock
- BricopackUninst.cmd
- BricoPackUninst.txt That is not so difficult, but when I then try to reinstall, the computer itself constantly makes a new BricoPackLock.lock! Is this Microshot trying to sabotage matters? Any thoughts? Thanks, Frank Message edited by Frank62 on 01-21-2009 at 07:25:18 PM

legace Profil: Moderator | The Bricopack should be installed in:
C:\WINDOWS\BricoPacks
Check out if that folder exists ---------------

| |
Frank62 Profil: New Penguin | Thanks for replying, Legace. But I already tried removing C:\Windows\BricoPacks, and all other files with "brico" or "inspirat" in their name. And even all folders under C:\Windows\Resources\Themes, except "Luna", because Windows won't let me remove that since that would be in use.
But then something weird happens. When I try to re-install, the installation program says "Another Shell Pack is already installed on your computer." If that isn't strange already, the following is: it asks whether I want to remove the old Shell Pack, but when I click "Yes", it -- or some other program on the computer -- creates (a new) BricoPackLock.lock under C:\Windows. And nothing else happens after that, no matter how long I wait. Clicking the installation .exe file again results in the same cycle. How is that possible, and how do I solve it? | |
