On the occasion of the SIGGRAPH 2008Autodesk announced that to celebrate the 10 years of their software Autodesk Maya, a new version will make its arrival from October.
It is often used in the world of the film industry and it is the source of character such as Stuart Little, Shrek, Gollum... but also this animation .
Wrong The Amiga with Lightwave is as its much better still - Maya has 8bit graphics the Amiga true real-time 48bit graphics. The other one that is used is The Itanium aka Amiga clone as it uses RGBE also not inferior vga which is what maya is.

I'd not see why Lightwave is better for every situation and 3D artist, which is what you state. I believe that at the moment, Maya is more customizable. It is sometimes said that Lightwave is better for still images whereas Maya is better for animation. Personally I believe it's often the preference of the artist.
About this news, very interesting! The website of Maya is definitely worth checking out. There's lots of interesting information there. Thanks for the news.

Maya never was - man I had artist use the amiga Lightwave and even pc lightwave over maya. Rmerbe I said Amiga Lightwave which si far better then either. Funny u have 8bit and vga and Amiga has 48bit and RGBE so right there the Amiga side is better- as fat as pc side in all truth both are a toss up but lightwave always had a slight lead. Rember Im comparing Amiga to the x86 - which u guys are at a loss in the begining so its really unfair.
