It better not be a major ram eater, because I may be dual-booting it with my XP computer.

It's probably going to require 1-2GB minimum RAM depending on the version ... though it will probably need 4GB+ RAM to run most of today's applications smoothly. Just my guess.
 
PS: RAM is cheap, get some more.
