A news to inform you that the website VideoLAN has published the version 1.0.0 of the open-source multimedia framework and player VLC media player.  
 
 
So, after several Release Candidate, VLC media player 1.0.0 is finally available for download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

So it took them what, 8.5 years to get to a full release? Even so, it's still been the best video player for ages!

VLC is a nice player. Going to update my two installations right away.

Edit: Running the updater within VLC doesn't seem to give any new versions yet.

 
True. VLC plays everything, perfect. I love it. Glad to see 1.0 is finally here. 0.x.x were fine, though

VLC is a good player but I think I'll stick to the KMPlayer which I think is better thank VLC in GUI as well as in functionality.

vlc is a good little player, it just runs slow under pressure

 
How come? I've never had any sort of lag with VLC (except if the video is crappy) :S
