Hello guys ...can ne buddy tell me if i need another partitions expect Swap and Linux extended ? help me for installing Linux i am new linux user wana learn ..

which version are you trying to run? and is it a liveCD?

do you want to install it alone on a computer or with a dual boot : linux/windows?

If you want to install Ubuntu, it will automatically create the partions

i want to install dual boot ... with windowsXP i have created Swap and extended3 but still facin same problem ..

i tried version 10 OR 9

Which distribution are you trying to install? Ubuntu?
There are many very good tutorials to install Linux on the net, first have a look at your distribution's documentation.  

No ... it's Fedora Core ... now i got new msg   no drives found ...and i have drive with Swap and exten 3 partition   ... can you tell me the link for download Ubuntu .... i searched ebooks for help but not yet found...

Yep, Ubuntu is really easy to install.  Just boot it off the CD and it will load into the desktop.  If you like it, you can then run a partition/install tool from an icon on the desktop.
