hi friends !!! i am a fedora 5 user. my problem is that my os can't detect my scanner. i know that it's rightly  connected because  it works properly in windows. but in fedora5 when i goto application -> graphics -> scanner tool , it gives me an error messege "no scanner found" !!! plz tell me how to fix this problem !!! thanks in advance.

it would be very helpful if you would tell me what the scanner is (make and model) and how it is connected (usb?) also, is the tool you are using xsane?

at first i want to convey my serious thanks to you for showing interest in my problem..........   i am using HP SCANJET 2400 which is
connected through usb port. ya i have tried xsane version 0.991. thank you again..........
