right click desktop personalize change theme, use windows aero, if this doesn't work try a system restore to a date earlier to date of installation of brico pack,
And please don't say that taskbar ugly, because it's not ugly, I also used it for a long time, imay hurt some users(me included), just because you dont want to use it, it's not ugly.
