Gruzz Profil: Moderator | Good job. You're the thousand person with cut shadows, but the rest of the work looks pretty good.
darklady Just remember, art saves lives. Profil: Big Penguin | There is a small trick on getting better shadows (not being cut off) The shadows are hard to see when you have got no background layer. Try adding a background layer in white or other lighter color and then when you are ready to save it, simply hide that layer. If you cannot tell the shadow is cut, chances are, you should scale it down a little bit.
earnur Profil: Penguin | Why don't you can't change canvas size? Just go to Image -> Canvas Size or press ALT+I+S
Rimorox Profil: New Penguin | Thank you great Tutorial here's my result: and this one has no bachground:
| |
Aelitafan13 Profil: Penguin | Here's my result: Also, I found a way to make a EXISTING Background transparent : In the Layers palette, double click the background layer The New Layer dialog box appears. In the Name text box, verify that it reads Layer 0 In the Opacity field, drag to 0%. Save as .PNG. Your Background is now transparent
Asher Genius is not born , it is made.... Profil: Moderator | Your outcome is quite impressive keep it up

Very cool, but I see a lot of aliasing on the lightning bolt. Try to make one yourself instead of pasting it ... should get better results. Oh, and the shadow's cut off at the right and bottom.

Thanks, too bad i noticed your message a little late--> i have already done 6 different ones. by the way will gaussian blur help? Message edited by maquire202 on 01-11-2009 at 09:20:02 PM ---------------

uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | I think so, a slight Gaussian Blur of about 0.3 to 1 pixel should help. ---------------

uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | They look fine, though I think you should apply a transparent to white gradient for the shine; that is to say, transparent near the centre and whiter at the edges. Makes it look more "spherical" -- especially since you're using such a plain background. Message edited by uttaresh on 01-11-2009 at 05:05:44 AM ---------------

kenryuakuma Profil: New Penguin | well...I am just wondering how you do it and I followed the instruction precisely step by step. However, when I was working on the gredient overlay apply the effects to it my oval circle just changed to the square block. No matter how hard or with whatever methods I have tried and used, it just kept getting the damn square block.
This is how I did this: I first created a new document and set the size as told and then I set the background with white color as a background for the image and then I used vectorial elliptical tool to draw a circle on it and apply black color from the foreground before I started working on the gredient and effect.
mainmukit Profil: New Penguin | Well I gave it a shot, with a few changes =)
