Here is a tutorial on how to make a page curl in photoshop:

1. Open a photo or use a document that you have finished.

I will be using this:
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/Forest.jpg

2. Using the pen tool, create a triangle shape on one of the corners of your image. It may help to zoom in. Holding Shift will help in making straight lines.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/triangle.jpg

3. Select the contents of the Triangle layer by ctrl+clicking the preview in the layers palette. Select the layer of your photo or document that you are adding the curl to and press delete. This removes the area of the page that will be "curled." If your layer is locked, you will need to duplicate it and hide the original. Deselect

4. With the triangle layer selected, go to the Edit menu. Go to transform (path) and flip both vertically and horizontally. You may wish to zoom into the edge of the triangle and ensure that it is lined up with the deleted edge of the picture.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/flip.png

5. Go into the layer effects for the triangle. Create a gradient overlay with these settings:
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/gradient.jpg
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/gradient2-1.jpg
NOTE: The angle will need to be adjusted based on the corner you are using. If your image is not rotated, use angles in increments of 15 degrees. If it is rotated, you will have to experiment.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/curl-1.jpg

6. Still in the effects window, you need to add a drop shadow. Use the settings below:
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/shadow.jpg
Again, this will be an area where you need to experiment.

7. Rasterize the triangle if you haven't already done so. Do this by right clicking the layer in the Layer Palette and clicking Rasterize Layer.

8. You may notice that the shadow may be going into the transparent area. To avoid this, select the contents of the image. With the triangle layer selected in the Layers Palette and the image still with "marching ants" add a mask to the triangle layer. The image will be deselected and the selection will turn into a mask.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/mask.jpg

You may choose to leave the image like this now. If you want to add some more detail, continue:

Details

Adding a curve to the curl
Using the elliptical marquee tool, make a selection at the top of the curl (or whatever side you would like) It may help to zoom in.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/selection.png

With the curl layer selected, press delete.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/curl-1.jpg

Image Border
If you are doing this to a picture, you may wish to add a white border to make it look more realistic.
Using the layer effects for the picture, add a stroke with these settings:
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/border.jpg

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/saladbar1/Tutorials/Curl/forest-with-border.png

Coloring the curl

If you are using a document that is a solid color, you may with to change the color of the curl to match. Use the color overlay effect on the curl to do so. I have found that the Linear Light or Color mode works well.

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh299/forumgrafix2/Projects/Nintendo%20Addict/Blueprint-1.png

Continue to experiment. You may wish to rotate your image like the one above to add realism.

I would include the PSD but it is too large to attach

I like it. That came out very well.

Yours is a good example that you don't have to use the Reverse option for the gradient. It looks good both ways.

To me... my mistake looks better  I think since that end curls to the floor it should be darker, if they light comes from anywhere but directly from the left... Ah, the joys of mistakes

When you use a colour overlay for the curl, like the blue, do you change the opacity or the style so that the gradient is still visible?

I think I had changed the opacity, but I don't remember. I'll experiment.

And you're right about the gradient. After I saw yours I took a piece of paper and curled it. The darker part is on the outside.

I put a note under the gradient area to keep the Reverse box unchecked. I'll get an update of the window as soon as I get a chance.

EDIT: I have updated it. I also updated the area on coloring it.

It looks like you've got the images wrong when replacing them Tanshin... there is now both versions of the "curled" corner, and no image of the elliptical marque selection.

EDIT: Did one with multiple pictures, layed out with a nice paperclip  And tried making different page curls with the pen tool; a quick example of how people can further this tutorial, with a bit of experimenting:

(Try not to mind the aliasing  )

Wow, that is great. Yeah that is a good example.

Fixing the images

EDIT: I noticed that on the grass curl, the gradient isn't exactly lined up right

Personally I prefer using Inkscape for such purposes - it's faster and You can easily reuse any object You made.

Yea, like I said, quick example  The curl isn't quite right either, comes out too far at the bottom I think...

Welcome to CrystalXP edu707! Your result is pretty nice. :oui: There are for me two errors that are clear to see. Where the curled page comes back to a normal state, there are two rounds. Also the tip of the curl is a bit strange. To make your result more convincing, you probably also have to un-straighten the right side of the curl. :oui: I understand that are lots of tips for you to work on. It would be a good idea to just go over the whole tutorial again. This way you can see if you get a different result the second time. Good luck with learning Photoshop!

Try to make the amount of bend a bit more. I didn't do much in the tutorial (my fault), but adding a touch more adds a bit of realism. Sometimes, getting a white sheet of paper and curling the corner may help.
