For your first try that is excellent   If you try it again read it really slowly and make sure you dont miss anything.  For your 2nd try just stick with the colours that are shown therefor you can make no mistake.

Yes, nice work  When you setup the new file make sure you have the colour mode set to RGB and that the resolution is around 72.

Your 2nd try was excellent

or maybe higher than 72pixels/inch

Try finish your work as a png format so you could get rid of the shadings

first of all let me say that this tutorial is WOW!
i am new to photoshop and followed it EXACTLY like it said ...
 
it was REALLY lengthy but it was worth it.

well my picture isnt exactly the same as the one in the tuto.
can someone PLEASE guide me where and what am i doing wrong?

PS- just installed crystalxp and loving it... why didnt i hear of this wonderland before? i downloaded and installed vista (theme) too but i like crystal better!

im using photoshop 7... does that make a difference?
it shouldnt as all the setting are the same in the tuto.

I think your is excellent!  You may have just got a few of the shading options mixed up but not to worry still looks great.  I suggest you also try some of the other tutorials the forums have to offer.  My personal favouite is the B&B Icon.

and i made a porthole.. lol.. i dont know why bu ti cant get the glass (lens) effect... well may be because i created it, i say yours (the frog one) and its Awsome!

well i am trying to improve and to be honest, after looking at others work, i need ALOT of improvement. specially with the crystal effects.

But onething, I assume you're using Adobe Photoshop CS2 (no 2.0) but version 9.0

hahah yes my bad its CS2 version 9.0 LOL i always mix up everything with numbers plus its 3 am so im allowed to mix it up hahah.
well yeah i wanne get a certificate in adobe cuz im a webdesigner and alot more then that but im not the best at photoshop.... its a shame but ill learn and with the great tuts u guys have i meen wow thast easy learning man! anyways im of o my bed now since its 3:15 am and im tired. btw i saw what u made on other forum threads and ur just awsome wit hyour creations....... Yes, Neil is an excellent designer... He also can help you out with almost any problems with BricoPacks, Icons, etc....  

But back to the subject

I'm not a newbie with photoshop, but this is not quite what I'm usually doing with it so it was fun and pit different.
I must have been cutting some corners with this tutorial, because my work does not look the same as the one in tutorial, but anyways...it looks kind a cool
