Well, here's my first go at it.  This was the longest tutorial I've ever done lol.  It's awesome.  Thanks for such a great piece of work.  Now I can start modifying my very own tux !  TY !  Comments on my tux please ?  Did I miss anything ?

It looks like I messed up on the "drop shaddow" step at the end of the tutorial

I tried a different way for the drop shaddow.  Is the pic in the tutorial for that step wrong ?  Anyways, both are side by side... obviously the second one is better.

Well, It's a great finish F34R.
Now try to use your own effects and reflective ways to improve what you've got

Thanks so much for the tut.  This is my first time actually using the correct methods of making somehting in PS.  I am a completely self taught PS'r and dont really know alot of tricks, this taught me soo much you have no clue.  Here is my first attempt at a tux.

So don't worry about not knowing all the techniques because there are lots of them in Photoshop and some of them even we're not aware yet.

here is my Tux... I change a few things though.. I struggled greatly on the eyelids but managed to pass them off as okay... also the pupil reflections were pretty hard... I changed the opacity of the "pupil reflect 2" to 58% instead of 38% because it looked a but dull on mine...

Also on the "beak reflect 2" I put an opacity of 42% on it... I looked for your opacity setting on it but couldn't find one... in number 42 that is...

And the wing reflections were sooo hard... but I did them... Then I couldn't quite get the inner foot reflections but I sorta did whatever then chnaged the opacity from 70% to 45%... but I did something wrong there..

Anyway... here it is... my first Tux...

I have used GIMP for a year and I saved and loaded .psd using GIMP... You just have to associate .psd with GIMP... np

It isn't original and it simply the standard G2 Tux but it is special because I do it with my hands (and with Narc0 brain )
