If you already saved in the highest quality you can safe the .gif file, there's probably no other way to increase the quality. .gif files aren't as good looking in terms of quality compared to .png files most of the time. But.. you'll of course lose the sparkles.

Thanks anyway Gruzz. At first I was thinking about making a realisticly looking blinking tux but I didn't have enough brain juice to think of anything. Maybe you have an idea?

70. Here's the last step, double click on the "Left eye" layer and click on drop shadow in the layer styles window. Put these settings :
Color: black
Blending mode: Multiply
Angle: 90°
Opacity: 63%
Distance: 4 pixels
Size: 13 pixels
 
 
Repeat this step for the "Right eye" layer.
 
an esier way to do this is right click on left eyed layer style and select "copy layer style" and paste layer style on right eye
 
   

Because I lost my previous Tux, I made a new one! Really fun to do this tutorial again after so many years.

how do i choose background and foreground colours?

ok ive found that out but wheres the foreground to background bit?

Ummm ... if you don't know that, you should first start off with some basic Photoshop tutorials before attempting to create a tux.

See the one right at the bottom that's marked "Foreground and Background Color Well"? The one on top is for foreground colour, the one under it is for background color. Click whichever one, and select a colour.

And once again, please resize your signature.

EDIT: What foreground to background? Could you quote the part you are having trouble with?

Nice Tux dvs and welcome to CrystalXP! It might take a while to create a Tux, but it is nice to have a good result as well right?

Awesome tutorial, this is my first time trying to make the tux but its about the 100th go at using photoshop so i was already pretty good so here you go:
currently in editing can't show yet will repost when its finished
im really proud of it but it took about 2 hours to make so that was a bit annoying but i think it was well worth the boredom
