Hello! Welcome to my "User Bar Tutorial".
This is my first tutorial ever, so it may not be that good as others.

In this tutorial, we will learn how to make User Bars like these:

Of course, they are free for use.  

Ok. Let's start!
Step 1:

Download the font "Visitor".

Step 2:

Open Photoshop. Shut MSN or other disturbing software, and put some fancy music on!

Step 3:

Make a new document. I will use the size 300x19. Transparent background.

Step 4:

Pick two colors, or one standard color that flows with the render/theme. I will make a Yoshi User Bar. So I will choose White from his stomach, and Green from his body. Then make a Linear Gradient from where you think it looks best.

I ended up with this:

Step 5:

Open a new picture. 6x6. Choose the Pencil Tool, (right click at Brush Tool,) and make sure the size of the pencil tool is at 1 pixel. Zoom in @1600, (as far as you can.) Now make the line which is beneath.

Make it look like this:

When you got the same result as above, go to  Edit-> Define Pattern. Then choose a name for the pattern and press OK.

Step 6:

Make a new layer and name it: Pattern. Choose the Paint Bucket Tool and change the type of the fill from Foreground to Pattern.

Now, fill the layer named "Pattern" with the pattern. Leave it at Mode: Normal and Opacity: 25%.

Step 7:

Place you're render in, and make it get a nice size and position. I ended up with this:

Step 8:

Now time for the text! Write with the font "Visitor TT1 BRK". You MUST use White as color and text size: 11 pt

Now, simply set a 1 px Stroke with the color Black at outside

I ended up with this:

Step 9:

Make a new layer and name it "Shine". Take out the Elliptical Marquee Tool and make a shape like this:
Now, fill it with White and leave it at Mode: Normal and Opacity: 30%

Step 10:

You're done! Take a coffee and relax.  

If you done this tutorial perfect. You will end up with something like this:
