Photoshop Lightsaber Tutorial.
Let's begin this incredibly simple and fast tutorial.
First find an image you want to add a lightsaber to. I'll use the one below.

Part 1: The Blade
Let's begin.
1. Make a new layer.
2. Use the line tool
to make a new blade on top of the existing lightsaber on the picture. Rasterize the layer and add little circles at the beginning and the end of the line.

3. Double click on the layers icon. Enter the following settings.

You will have to change the glow depending on your picture.

Part 2: Moving Blade
4. Before giving your blade the glow use the line tool
to make another line like this:

5. Use the Eliptical Marquee Tool
to make a round selection. Adjust it so that the lines touch the border of your selection. Use the lasso tool
to get rid of the extra selection. Leave only the round part that touches the lines. This is how it should look.

Select the lines by Ctrl-clicking on their icons and then select the inside using the lasso tool
and fill. Press Shift+F5 and fill the selection with any color.

then apply the settings above to this layer.
Part 3: The Light
6. This step is very important to make the saber look realistic. Use a brush tool
with the color of you lightsaber blade and paint over all surfaces that the light from the saber will most likely hit.

7. In the blending options choose color and change the opacity to your liking.

And there is your final result:

"May the Force be with you."
