Ahhh ... you should have picked a lighter shade of blue, like the blue in the Windows logo in your avatar and sig.

Ummm ... I didn't mean duller though. Only the saturation of the colour is less, the overall shade is still the same. TRY THIS COLOUR.

Somewhat better, but the font is too thin now, and the colour is still a too dark for the effect. The orange from your sig would be a good choice for this effect.
