well, my desktop is very simple in fact there are no icons on it at all I used to mod my desktop a long ago, below are two screenshots:

Thank god I'm not alone using a the smaller taskbar on Windows 7, but I was the first one .

I find the smaller o taskbar much better -- it should be as default The larger taskbar is awful. The icons are small (relatively speaking), which makes it a lot harder to click on the target accurately. And the heigt is just terrible, waste of space.

I love the big taskbar it make launching apps great on my laptop. But when I connect to a my monitor its just really a inconvenience. I guess it just how you use it.
