Here is a website design I'm trying to create. So far, I'm only making the graphics in Photoshop, but as soon as it is complete, I'll be converting it to HTML and CSS.

Tell me what you think. Also, if someone has some nice images that will look good on the page, I'd like to know.

I love the 'News box'. The buttons are a bit unclear, perhaps use a lighter shade of green for their text. 'Get Firefox' links are a thing of the past in my opinion.

Which buttons? The stone ones? I know you can't read them from afar, but hey! I'm focusing on design, and well ... you CAN read them.

Here is another update:

PS: I'll remove the Firefox link, then. Have any other text I can put at the bottom? Looks kinda empty.

EDIT: I think it's just about done. Posted on deviantArt. Tell me if you have any suggestions, though, I can always edit it!

Well on the French side, they say green is a bad background colour choice as it is too painful on the eyes. But it seems OK on my screen, does anyone have the same problem here?

I know! That's what I said! I guess the guys there like darker backgrounds. All of theirs are black.

Still some minor tweaking left, like hover effects for buttons and the download links, etc. but I'm not going to bother with those for now.
 
Tell me if you find any errors/glitches. On the internet, what seems good on my PC can be all messed up on another's.

Anyway, that IS the full HTML page. The styling is done through CSS.

But why do you want my PSDs? Try copy it on your own, ask me if you don't get anything right.

1. I've to scroll horizontal as well on your website to view all of the website. That's not really appreciated in web-design.
 
2. The 'newest downloads' aren't lining up to each other horizontally. Is that on purpose? I think it looks better if you do align them up.

none of the links to the portfoloi /about work its just it wont do anything.
 
for the portfolio there is a great free gallery ( if yu have not already created one  
 
its called 'S.Gallery' its got an admin controol panel etc and various flash gallerys built in !!

to avoid horizontal scroll reduce width from 1200px, to something around
800 - 900px, and set margin:auto to keep body centered.
 
Green is a good colour for background , with white page layout color.

Oh my gosh! Well Gruzz, I made it 1200px wide, that's probably why you have to scroll across. Do you use 1024x768 resolution? I thought everyone had moved on to 1280x1024 + ... I use 1680x1050. I'll use 900px next time then.
 
The Newest Downloads on the site should be exactly like the ones shown in the screenshot. Which browser are you using? I guess I should test it more.
 
TMyster, this isn't my portfolio, it's just a plain design. That's why the links aren't working ... it's not a real website.

My MacBook is 1280 by 800. And I'm sure lots of laptop users are still using that resolution. On Safari on Mac and Chrome on Windows, the download window is both wrong. The title isn't in the center, which pushes down the image and the second row.

Well Gruzzie Boy, you shouldn't have to horizontal scroll @ 1280 screen width ...

Is it just a few pixels or a lot? A screen shot would be appreciated (for all the glitches, if you don't mind).

EDIT: Everything looks fine on my Safari, except that the Newest Downloads title isn't being displayed for some reason.

EDIT 2: Ah, I see what you mean for Chrome. I'll see what I can do.
