By all means this is not a working, nor an actual project Microsoft is working on.  Some controls are what I would like to see in a future Windows release.

I am pleased to finally announce that the first installment of my Microsoft Windows 8 Concept is underway!  Yes, the desktop has come together nicely.   I just couldn’t wait until the release of the competed project.  I wanted to share with you what I have finished thus far, & get your feedback.
Please don’t ask what certain controls do.  I will explain everything in great detail in the next release.
You will notice that there is a Vista element to it.  I like certain things about the Vista OS, so I decided to base my idea off of it.

The element I am going for, is less hand work-  right handed people have more controls on the right of the screen so they don’t have to move the mouse as much or as far.  Left handed people can have more controls on the left side of the screen.  These controls will allow you to pick & choose at your discretion.

The image is for the right handed user.

Windows 8? Why wait that long

I really like what you did with the startbutton, i had an extremely similar idea once, but the taskbar was on the left like it normally is, and the sidebar was on the right

You know what they say, great minds thingk alike

Great start. I can imagine using a system like that.
The only thing I wouldn't like is that the start button is not in the far right, but a bit left from the right side.
When I click on the start button, I just drag the mouse to the bottom left corner and click = I don't have to think where the mouse is.
Now, with your concept, I can't do this, I can't drag the mouse to the bottom right..

Otherwise, its looking pretty good

Thanks guys for your input & I am glad you like the idea!

I haven't been able to work much more on the idea....  My real job seems to be taking alot of my time.  & I had a huge computer melt down....  But luckly I saved all my templates on a second drive.  BTW-  Anyone ever get the error at startup "SHELL32.dll was changed or moved please insert your windows disk  to repair this file." then after I reboot with windows disk,  it hangs when starting from the disk.

Oh well my solution was just to format & do a clean install-  Took forever but, wut u gonna do?

Anyway srry for the delay & I am back to work on "Vision"

To Legace- Thought about that, the taskbar even started out that way, but it just didn't run with the xtra tools.  Think u'll understand when the desktop tools are released.  It is getting there slowly but surely.

Anyway thank you everyone for your ideas & support.

Hello again!  After an exhausting recovery of a major computer melt down, I am finally happy to release the desktop tools for the “Vision” series.

1st thing you will notice is the “Icon Explorer Tree” this tool allows you to navigate to different folders & files-  Same concept as in “Tabbar” just a little more revved up.

http://fc20.deviantart.com/fs37/f/2008/263/5/0/__Vision___Desktop_Tools_by_Kaughn.png

2nd Item is on the taskbar – “Icon Dock” – Same concept as Rocket Dock or Object Dock. Just drag & drop any icon to it & it is stored.   Simple as that.

That’s it for the desktop…  Now on to create Explorer, have I got ideas for it... (It will be a while before it’s release)
Let me know what you think..  I am very surprised how well Paint.net preformed with the graphics.

Hey guys just an update of what I've been up to..
sorry for the delay of the explorer release....  I have been busy changing over to Vista!

Yes that is right you heard me...  I know, I know, this from the guy that said he will not abandon XP untill 1yr after Win 7's finial release.  XP crashed on me 1 too many times recently...  & my buddies have finally convinced me to go ahead with the Vista Ultimate 64bit.... Anyway let the Vista party begin!
Just waiting for my Power supply, graphics card & some xtra fans to be delivered.  Then I will hopefully be able to Finnish Liquid Vision.

Thanks-
Kaughn
