Ive got tired of my current avatar and sig , ive pretty much finished the avatar but ive gotta work in the sig so here is the avatar i think ill add a border too

Nice work! I love the colour differences.

Yea, lines behind and the smallest line i think ill replace it the only prob is the wood is slightly transparent, i may have to cut out the black around the edge and get rid of the black (outside) and then do the lines and add the black again
The x was supposed to be in the background though ill try both ways " mesa has all the time in the world! )

Thanks Perhaps instead of having to redo the whole X because it is transparent, why not:
 
1. Make a copy of the line layers
2. Hide the original layer in case you need it again
3. Rasterize the layer copy
4. Erase the lines on the layer copy at the places where they go "behind" the X.
 
That way if you go wrong you have the original (presumably path) layer,  and you don't need to redo the X layer!

ok, ive got the avatar done but when i change my avatar the forum messes up the text s (compare to avatar and This :

how can this be re-sized approeately so the image becomes 'fuzzy'

If you open up the PSD in photoshop you can go to Image>Image Size and then choose the right proportions for a CXP avatar. And change the rendering method (at the very bottom) to Bicubic Sharper (Best for reduction).

Number 2. Though the yellow line looks slightly weird... slightly pixelated.
 
I had a little play with this It was very awkward working with the X, seeing as it was a background image with its own glow effects... but it was a fun 5 minutes
