He's talking about the entire thing. The light blue lines are lined up to the 'ring' on the inside of the CD. He probably means that they aren't aligned in the centre.

Well, the Ring isn't really supposed to be at the center.

It's not a normal disc image. It's skewed for the perspective or whatever. So, there's ought to be a bit of difference.

But I did move it a bit... How's it now?

Comparing with the icon in my dock, extremely good.

I do see that the disk looks like it has some perspective to it in the original (upper right corner), but I don't think it is necessary.

I wanted to add more perspective, as in the original iTunes icon ... but it created too much aliasing.

It really isn't necessary. the icon still looks awesome without it.

Not bad Though the raindbow bit looks odd to me... it seems to be thicker at the top left than the bottom right, and since the disk is flat... looks odd

You might want to change the shadow then, that's what made me think it was flat, since it's drop shadow. It should have shadow like in the iTunes icon (:tongue And then you'd need to put the gloss only below, or spend time working out how it would curve over and where to get it to look right.

Nice, I'll definitely try that later.

But for now, my life's becoming busy again. So, till October 6th... I'm putting this project on hold. No more icons (and tuxes) from me until things get a little cooler for me. I'll just make the Rainbar request that I'd promised a few days ago this week, as soon as I get time. But after that... no more Photoshopping.

LOL, I can't figure out if you're being appreciative or critical...

Anyway, the Notes icon:

Appreciative (I thought they were cool, little pods for trash... that would be something interesting in real life)

The note pad is cool, but it seems like something is missing and I just don't know what. Maybe some kind of writing, or a texture, but... I'm still not sure.

Yeah, it does look empty, but this one is the official notes icon. Maybe I'll make a better, custom one in the future.

That would be great... except that if I put a pencil in, it wouldn't look like an iPhone icon... they're not really supposed to look 3D. Everything has to be on one plane. A little beveling is OK, but I can't give it [the Pencil] an entirely 3D perspective.

Sleep icon looks really good in my opinion.

I just updated the power and restart icons to make them a bit more similar to the sleep one. (Changed some effects and settings)

I know that these two still need amelioration, I just don't know what...
