Well, in the original iPhone icons, the gradient is from light at the bottom to transparent on the top. That's what I've kept. Yours would indeed look better, but it wouldn't be like the iPhone's.

Neither would keeping the shine below the chat icon bubbles

Hey, just joking, you should leave them above, they look better, and most people would rather they looked better than were all the same

The YouTube TV icon thingie... I haven't decided what it's going to be in the pack... maybe I'll change it later to make it the Media Player icon.

Though the choice of color I think fell down... to me, the red is too light, under the gloss it goes to pink... perhaps a darker red or green?

That's how it is in the iPhone.

No, your red is a lot redder/brighter. And I notice there's no glossy semi circle on the iPhone one, hence it won't go pink.

That calendar icon looks much better - even though its seems its a bit too dark now
But, I don't think anyone will care when the icon is 32x32 or something..

Great work There is aliasing in the top of the calender icon

I know, I've tried my best, but it won't go away... If I use blur, the gradient gets affected and it comes out of the icon... When I try to remove the thing that comes out, the aliasing comes back...

It look OK when smaller though.

There was a trick Asher posted a link to that would remove aliasing... can't remember it though

How have you structured the psd? Can't you just, redraw the shape? And how have you applied the gradients? That often affects aliasing.

It's a vector, so there really shouldn't be any aliasing. That's what bugs me. And yes, I've tried Asher's trick... which is sort of a blur trick.

Well it might be the way you've applied the gradient, have you used colour overlay, or put a gradient on a new layer with a selection?

No need, I applied a little blur to one of the Layer Masks... it looks better now:

I dunno, I think CS2 was not built for really large graphics. Even in my tuxes, the vectors always create aliasing on larger resolutions... but never on lower ones.

That's not because of PS but the way that you apply the effects

The aliasing above red part was due to the overlapping of white-layer and the red bar , which could have been fixed if you had moved the red bar just 2px up , did you try to put gradients the way as I suggested you , nice icon BTW

I was wondering... when I complete this pack, should I release it on CrX as 512px or 256px? I'll release both on my main website (whenever it's done)... but which would generate more downloads on CrystalXP?

Dunno... how many people who download icons off CXP have leopard? I'm sure they can easily resize... and if it's ona  dock it'll get resized anyway... and resizing wont make any differenc eon the final quality wether the icon is 256x256 or 512x512...

I would at first think 256 but then, better to have too much than not enough right?
