Maybe not on xp 10mb isn't but on vista you need all the RAM you can get

My computer just running Vista at startup, standard programs (Minus the rubbish HP stuff, just things like explorer, desktopmanager, and a few update things (Taking about 100kb of memory each) uses 38% of my RAM, so about 4/5 of a gb. Drives me mad.

*Another reason I love Ubuntu! With FireFox, Pidgin, The Gimp, and Open Office Word Processor open, while doing the flip 3D with a cube, and reflections, it only uses 27% of my RAM and only 25% of one core, and 11% of the other! :loveit:

Still found no way on vista :frown: Haven't been on Ubuntu today yet, my brothers using the xbox so I need vista for ICS (Is there something I could use to do this on ubuntu? Then I'd barely ever be in vista xD)

Well I do have Ubuntu myself but I'm unsure on how to work it very well ^.^;; I'll ask an Ubuntu expert on if it will work or not.
Btw, I have a Vista Laptop. (Takes it 5 minutes to open IE, YAY FOR VISTA! :boulay:) And I would gladly see if I could get the wallpaper to work on there, but alas, it's out of charge and I can't recharge it (for certain reasons).

At least we know for sure that this works on XP. So we can check that off.
Hopefully this will work for Vista somehow.

Once again, thanks for testing!

Oh I know, IE is an absolute nightmare! I have to use Opera which sometimes doesn't work, because whenever I run FireFox (Since uprading to version 3) windows just crashes it.

I had to restart my vista laptop today, because I had forgotten to plug it in so it was on battery (used 12% in about 3 minutes...) and when I plugged it in vista just ignored it, the battery didn't go down, vista just didn't know it was plugged in and charging... but it works now.

Well the XP users will be happy then  Shame it doesn't work for vista :frown: And I've had problems playing .swf files in Ubuntu, it just wont work :frown: Neither will DVDs though I installed the codec for it...

What version of Internet Explorer are you using? Internet Explorer 7 is pretty decent in my opinion! :oui: The problem with Vista and Firefox seems to occur more often, as you can see on the Firefox forums. There was no solution in that topic, but perhaps you will find more luck in other topics or sites on the internet. Just do a search for it if you haven't done already. :happy2:

I have done many searches, no luck with it yet, but I see no point, now I'm barely on vista Opera is fine for the odd time I use it. Since FireFox is working on Ubuntu I'm happy

And I'm using IE 7. It takes minutes to load, and just as long to load individual pages, but I never use it as a matter of course, Opera and FireFox are way better than microsoft's pathetic browser

I'm using Firefox as well on my computer, but Safari on my laptop. :oui: I feel the difference between Internet Explorer and Firefox is declining. Firefox is great because of all the plugins, and I really don't like the look of Internet Explorer. The thing I hate most about Internet Explorer is how they handle web standards, which is horrible for web designers. But luckily that's improving a lot with Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (still in beta).

ICS

Install Firestarter using Applications > Add remove.
Run Applications > Internet > Firestarter [do the configuration guide]

If I remember correct, you can do ICS it from there:
http://www.fs-security.com/docs/connection-sharing.php

(You can do ICS in terminal also, but its much harder )

Thanks Legace

@Gruzz: Oooh IE8 beta... might have to try that  Firefox has good plug-ins, that's one of the main reasons its so brilliant, it's customisable (Unlike anything that old Redmond have come up with) whereas internet explorer is to a much lesser extent, plus FireFox is multi-OS, whereas IE is micosoft only, even Apple twigged to that with Safari.

Still no hope with vista or Ubuntu on this background :frown: I've tried going through the control panel, I've right clicked from browsers, from explorer, from Nautilus, nothing is working :frown: This would have been so cool... though workspaces in vista would have been better  Ubuntu :loveit:

*Rain in Ubuntu is so cool... and fire's not bad :666:

To be honest, I don't think many Linux or Mac users would want to use the Internet Explorer browser anyway.

No, but it does lower their potential users  If they improved it it would be more appealing, though while it is only for Windows Users no one would swap just to use it. If they made it better, and available to more people, it would help improve Microsoft's reputation, which it could do with, as their stereotype isn't perfect

All this talking of web browsers makes me think... What ever happened to NetScape? The first Web browser... Or so I know of.

Anyway, thank you people for testing out this wallpaper, but I just need one last opinion.
Should I publish and share it on this site? Or forget it?

(Forgive me for sounding n00bish, I still don't know this site very well) :boulay:

For more information about NetScape, look here. AOL dropped the development of NetScape and a big part of NetScape lives on in Mozilla Firefox.
