I'd say less. He's talking about the shadow in the inner circle I think.

right. but i think he pointed out the shadow outside the circle..may be i am wrong.

I am more keen on making something like this...! any ideas. the space between the base layer and the shadow is actually transparent. any tips?

Gruzz: the icon is based on the original hello icon. . Check this link . they also have flowers.

plus please dont say i double post all the time. sometimes by mistake yes, but not all the time.

point 1: the gradient will look better if you have a selection and fill it with the gradient. in this case it is covering the whole circle so you are not getting the crystal effect.

point 2: the tick mark will look better it is sharp rather than having blur effect. and a bit smaller will do.

hope you have nice time at photoshop. i am still practicing the 3-d effect.
