I will post here.
1. First I had to get rid of the shadow. So used the pen tool to make a selection, inverse the selection and cut out the shadow.
2. Next to deepen the color. CTRL + M and and adjust the curves.
3. To make the image sharper. I added Sharp filter twice.
4. Now make a selection of the base layer. (CTRL + Click)
5. Go to select > modify > contract 3 pixels in this case
6. Select the Circle marquee tool and subtract the selected portion with which you want to add the gradient to.
7. Make a new layer, add the white to transparent gradient
8. Decrease the opacity to 65% ~ 70%
9. Now make another selection to repeat the process 5 to 8 for a different portion on a different layer
10. After doing that add a layer, pick up the brush tool. star brush and with white foreground, add some stars at uneven spots.
11. DONE!! HOPE THIS HELPS

EDIT: It would have been easy if I had the PSD you made, to work on. But well.
