I haven't made them in Xara but I wish I could but guess what , it would take pretty huge amount of time for me to master Xara BTW , the difference in these icons is their size , this time I want to release them in 512x512.First , I'll release a light pack of 15-20 icons to see if people find them better or not , but I want to hear from you guys first
 

I'm all for the 512x512. Many of things today are moving to that (Leopard in particular). Plus, you can get more detailed usually.

Yes, 512 icons are harder and easier to criticize as everyone can see your icons in detail.

I don't know what kind of effect changing your size will have, but I stand by what I already said. Unless you change your style a bit, you won't get too many downloads (by your standards). I mean, I personally think you have a huge fanbase, but they won't download a pack if it's just about the same as your previous ones. Take a look at Phuzion, for example. It was, undoubtedly, a dozen times better than Aeon or your Soft icon pack ... but it had much less downloads than either. On the other hand, though you put relatively less effort and time into Eko folders, it instantly received a Daily Deviation, and already has so many downloads despite the fact that it's just for folders. Why? Because we got something different from you. Yes, the style was still your trademark soft one, but it was still something new.

You are improving with every pack you release, definitely, but you need to release a pack that is dramatically different - one which people will look at and go "Wow! I've never seen anything like this before!" I don't know how you can do this, or what theme you should select, but you could say pick a wallpaper and create icons to match. Like something on nature, or Windows Seven, or even something like Space or the Underwater World.

But seriously, I agree with Uttaresh, though it had never occurred to me it does seem to make logical sense, especially in explaining the not as expected return from Phuzion. I think a new style is need or, as Uttaresh says, people will just glance and say "Seen that" and walk on by.

Thanks! Here's the one for Firefox. Didn't copy the fox, made it myself from scratch. The globe is made out of stone, and the continents are of moss with an engraving outline.

Asher, that looks awesome! I know what I said about being different, but the colours look really good in this.
 
STIIL, personally, I think icons are MUCH harder than creating tux. You have to worry about perspective, colours, lighting, and design. In a tux, you don't have to worry about perspective or design, and the colours and lighting are very simple.
 
I don't really know what you should start with, take a look at something in the Tutorials section.

I know it's not as good as 'Weby Icons' but I did whatever I was told.

Very nice I'd use them on my iPod but I've just installed 3.0 over my jailbreak

Wow, that's a fantastic icon! I really like the blue and the shiny glossyness of it
 
Only thing I would say is the grey metallic top, doesn't seem quite right somehow... and the shadow on the small top connector doesn't match up with the batteries shadow (unless you've got multiple light sources going on...)

I like the gloss of the battery as well! Great icon. As said by Asher, try to improve the top silver part.

I haven't done much graphics wise for a very long time now, so I've quickly knocked something up:

Personally I'm not liking the back, but it's very difficult to create a mirror in photoshop

Yes, I would have to agree with the back. I would say maybe look at some CD tutorials or something, then apply that to the back to create the shinyness.
 
But the front is looking amazing!
