I started learning 3ds Max. So far it's awesome. This is my first render.

Man, I wish I could do that. Some day I will sit down and actually make the effort to learn. I'd have to use TrueSpace since it is free but, hey still works.

area lights/ambient occlusion would give a better result.

what texture (material as in Max) did you use ?

why not Blender ? Its free Plus open source.
