After Truth made a little kennel using AoI, I decided to once again traipse through the 3D world, testing the water, and decided to start with Art of Illusion, instead of Blender Here are my first two models, mostly just to test as I learn new skills like texture editing, lighting, boolean modelling and everything else there is to learn

Here are some hints about further enhancements :
 

• AoI doesn't comes bundled with plugins.

  so, open the script and plugin manager (menubar>Tools>script and Plugin manager)
   click Install tab and select:
  Advanced Renderer
  Preview plugin
  Display mode icons
  Look and feel
  Measuring tool
  Electric wax theme.
  Poly mesh
click install selected.
 
This results in better GUI, and usability.

Nice start. If you install the plugin 'Advanced Rendered', you might be able to increase the quality of your renders. Although that means a longer render time of course.

I'm very annoyed and confused about the aliasing, I had the Advanced Rendering and aliasing set to maximum, it certainly didn't have all that aliasing when it rendered in AoI

Sometimes I notice it happens more when it is on different backgrounds... that is why I usually have a gray layer in photoshop just to make sure there is as little as possible

There's your problem right there. You need to set ANTI-aliasing to maximum and aliasing to minimum.

AND FOR GOD'S SAKE CHANGE YOUR NAME BACK TO GHOST!!!

that's really a good start follow uttaresh's suggestion which I am sure about will solve the aliasing problem

1) There is no ANTI-ALIASING option. There is Aliasing, that is it. And if the render is smooth, the saved image should be the same, after all it's rendering an IMAGE and showing me the IMAGE, why should it save at a low quality?

2)And I can't change my name, the name I registered with was ghostnatyphon, however on the old forums I was able to set my user name as it was seen on the forums to .Ghost. This is no longer available, and so I must live with my name

Are you sure you using Advanced renderer ?
 

 
there is an antialiasing option, and it saves your image in real time, right from the instant you click render
button.
 
Read the manual

I have that on maximum! I thought it said Aliasing, not antialising
 
Anyway I definitely have that set to MAXIMUM.
 
Anyway I don't know, I'm sure next time it'll be fine, usually with me after finding something didn't work as expected it just goes ahead and fixes itself, making me look a fool
