Well, I'm pretty bored, so I decided to join the Disney club on DeviantArt. Anyway, they're having a competition where we have to draw a Disney parent, so I thought I'd give it a try. A little rough with my sketching skills, but I hope to cover up for it when I colour it in Photoshop. So anyway, long live the King!

If you haven't got it by now, it's Mufasa from the Lion King. You know ... Simba's dad?

Wow, that is really good. I'd love to see this one colored like the Pooh one as well. (Maybe I'll use this one as my wallpaper. I like Lion King more than Pooh)

Hehe, thanks! :) I'm actually done with the colouring. Just the background left. I'm just waiting for a reply from the Disney club on dA. I don't know if how we submit our art for their little contest, and I don't want to be disqualified for posting earlier/incorrectly.

It's not really wallpaper ratio, though ... I was originally going to make Mufasa gazing down on Pride Rock, but I ran out of paper. :o

PS: Any hints for the background?

What if you did something green? Maybe you could do trees/a forest if you have time. If not, I'd just do some green

nice draw uttaresh, you are drawing now better than the past
but the eye is a bit small, and you can draw in the background clouds and small tiny birds (^^) like the litter M, and mountains in the bottom of the bg, and you can add a trees but if you can draw it :D

I just noticed that eye as well. It appears to be only the pupil, and not the rest.

Are you talking about the left eye? The right one looks fine to me...

Anyway, I tried making a traditional Lion King dusk background. You know, Mufasa on Pride Rock, with the sun behind him ... with a few dark clouds. But as the programmers at Adobe have brains the size of a dust grain, they really messed up the Render clouds option. I mean, despite the fact that the size of my drawing is 297x210mm (A4 size), it draws clouds by the Pixel resolution of the image (7,015x4,960 pixels). This means each time I tried the filter, I did not get one or two or even three ... but THOUSANDS of tiny clouds. :/

And apparently 2GB of RAM and 6GB of virtual memory aren't enough for applying filters to such a high-res image. So I guess Filter effects are a no...

I don't know about trees and clouds; they're kind of overused. I want this to be different! :( And there are no forests in the African grasslands.

EDIT: I just submitted it. I selected a pretty simple background with a frame; I thought it would be best. Anyway, here's the link.

Wow, that came out better than I expected! Nice job.

I think I got Tarzan and Lion King mixed up. That was why I said trees.
