Thank you for your replies. I don't think you know the depth of my gratitude. A friend sent me an svg image of a non-related project and told me it was "childs-play" to separate the layers and use the main image from the background.
I am still looking for a child to do it, LOL...I have the impressions of several keyboard keys in my forehead for my efforts.
Yes, I am thinking that the tux model popular with atang06 and originated by evarado is as appropriate as it is appealing. I have a concept that is already done in a fashion and usable and I will use that in other endeavors but for this I am hoping for something original. What I am thinking about for this logo is tux some how cutting a glossy black ball and chain. The ball of course will have "MS" on it so the symbolism isn't lost on the dull. Tux could be using a chain saw maybe? I will leave that to your great imagination.

Could you tell us anything about the size of the image, and what you're exactly looking for. After your post I'm still not sure what type of mascot you'd like.
