Hello, we recently had RayRay make some forum badges for us for our new website, and I wondered if he or someone else could help me with another project.  I am trying to recreate a user interface for World of Warcraft that I found floating around.  However, there is one graphic from the picture that I am unable to obtain.  It would probably end up being a small photoshop project for anyone that wouldn't mind helping me out.

I sure would appreciate the help as I don't have access to the kinds of plugins I need for photoshop to recreate the piece of art. If anyone is interesting, please let me know and I will show the art to you.

Awesome, let me go, here is the image with the pieces circled.

Basically I need two images with transparent backgrounds.  The one big flare.  Then the one small flare.  I should be able to flip resize and turn them myself, I just don't know how to make them.  Same colors and everything.

You help is greatly appreciated!

Oh and I only need the flare images, the flower ones I already have.  Thanks again!

Oh and one more question.  Can you make the images in .tga format?  Sorry,t hanks.

Ok I gave it a go, though this is the first time I have tried this effect.  Had no idea where to start lol

Those both look really good.  The only things that I can think to change about them:

They need less of a background, let me see if I can give you a better picture.

Sorry that this is the only example that I can give you.  But basically I need the flares to have more of a transparent background just like in the picture, instead of a circular background.  Sorry that the art behind them is kind of a distraction.  I truly appreciate your help.  Thanks again.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask them.

I don't want to keep bothering you guys to keep redoing them, they all look so nice!  Can you tell me what program and plugins you are using to make these images?  Does gimp have any plugins like that etc?  If I knew what to use I could try it out myself.  Thankyou again so much I am going to try out all of those I think.

The main thing you probably need to use is the radial blur. (not sure about gimp... I dont know what it is called... I downloaded a version in the wrong language lol)

Basically a few spots of color that you want and apply the radial blur to it. Just make sure you put your spots kind of random so it doesnt show as a big blur of one color.

I haven't really attempted this, but if I did (using GIMP) I would probably use the distort > wind effect on both left and right, and then use polar coordinates to make it all aligned. And then finally use color balance to add the blueish color to it.

I might attempt this later, but right now i'm working on a project.
