According to this tutorial for windows xp, the start button background is located in a certain directory. Does anyone know where this is in windows 2000. Also if you can, maybe where the taskbar buttons are...

I am not sure about Win2K but in Win98 , this can be done by editing the Explorer.exe file in Resource hacker , may be you can try to search the explorer.exe file in Resource hacker to find the Start button image
