The Oxygen Icon Project is the new icon set for the upcoming KDE version 4. For a long time, I have been impressed with the beauty of the Oxygen icons which, in my humble opinion, rivals that of Vista and OS X. These icons have already been ported to KDE 3.5 and even GNOME. However, I am unable to find an Windows XP port.

Is there a Windows XP port of Oxygen somewhere out there? If not, is anybody willing to make an Oxygen shellpack/transformation pack for Windows?

I am currently working on an Oxygen WinRAR theme. However, when it comes to modifying Windows system files, I do not have the experience.

Thanks in advance.

I guess you could use IconTweaker? It might help you to make your own icon file maybe.. I am not sure :err:

I don't think if these icons are available anywhere on the net  packaging these icons in a theme or a Bricopack requires the original icons to be available

These icons are actually available online. The Oxygen SVN has them in scalable vector format:

svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/trunk/KDE/kdelibs/pics/oxygen/scalable

Somebody has already ported the Oxygen icons to make a GNOME refit:

However, in this package, the icons are in PNG format but it does include 128x128 versions of the icons.

For applying these icons on your Windows you need to convert them in .ico files , you can use Png2Ico and ToYCon for doing so  , after converting the icons use IconTweaker for applying them. That's the easiest way I can suggest you to get these icons applied on you Windows by yourself , if you don't prefer it then you will have to wait until someone make a theme for it

Thanks for the link BTW :loveit:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/winthemer/ is an ongoing effort to port oxygen to windows so that the theme can be applied and removed in a one-click manner
